German Speaking Marketing & PR Executive

 Job Purpose Summary

We are looking for a fluent German speaker to join our growing and dynamic team, reporting to the Senior Marketing & PR Manager. The primary purpose of this role is to initiate and carry out regular Marketing & PR activity with key partners in the German and UK markets, specifically for Cara Hotel Marketing’s client - AMResorts. Coordinating the promotion of AMResorts’ products via numerous trade and consumer marketing channels is important, as well as maintaining strong travel trade and media relationships in order to generate optimum PR coverage. Occasional travel to the Caribbean & Mexico also forms part of the role.

 Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To develop and maintain strong working relationships with the UK, Irish & European travel trade, including media partners and tour operator/tourist board Marketing & PR departments.
  • To regularly proof client product content in tour operator sales collateral, to ensure adherence to client brand guidelines and that all information is factually correct before signing off in time to meet copy deadlines.
  • To assist in the coordination and proofing of artwork relating to trade and consumer marketing activity in the German and UK markets. This will involve liaising with the company’s outsourced graphic designer on a regular basis.
  • To provide support to the Senior Marketing & PR Manager to coordinate, implement and track trade media, tour operator and travel agent joint marketing initiatives. This includes annual marketing plans in place with core trade media and tour operator partners, ad hoc co-op marketing and booking incentives launched to the travel agent community.
  • Coordinate the content, design and successful communication of monthly German & UK travel agent newsletters.
  • Managing the HolidayCheck.de reviews website with regards to German language reviews that are posted for client products. Including translating negative reviews into English, sending these to the client resort involved, chasing for an adequate response and translating this back into German to post a response to the review on holidaycheck.de.
  • To assist with Wedding & Honeymoon-related marketing activity, including the production of flyers, proofing of wedding brochure content and co-ordinating the design of Wedding Package and Honeymoon Package PDFs.
  • Keeping an organised and up-to-date online library of all client Marketing & PR activity that takes place in the German and UK markets. Additionally, to compile branded client presentations on a monthly basis.
  • To regularly check trade press for coverage and report findings to the wider team.
  • Coordinating and responding to incoming trade and/or consumer media requests which could result in PR coverage for client products.
  • Attending media, travel trade and consumer shows/events, including the organisation and coordination of certain events. Occasional evening and weekend participation maybe required.
  • On a daily basis, working with the Marketing & PR Team to update English and German language social media content for our client as well as for Cara Hotel Marketing.
  • To audit tour operator partner websites with specific reference to client product content.
  • Reporting client campaign results to the wider team and to be fully aware of these performances in relation to revenue targets. To then proactively work with the Senior Marketing & PR Manager and rest of the team to implement recovery strategies and/or other activities where necessary.
  • On-going market research and knowledge building within the travel industry to be aware of changing trends and to highlight opportunities/threats that these may present, including opportunities for new business development.
  • Supporting the Marketing & PR Team with contributions to client reports by providing detailed updates on all Marketing & PR planning and activity in the German & UK markets.

Person Profile

  • Fully fluent in English and German

  • Ability to adapt and work across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or equivalent is preferable.
