We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

COMMERCIAL MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to manage the commercial strategy specific to our client hotels in the Caribbean & Mexico with the aim of increasing revenue and growing market share. The successful candidate will need to have outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills, whilst being able to meet and exceed key performance indicators.

This will be achieved through high quality, results-driven management of your team, sound strategic thinking and analytical insight, a strong understanding of the competitive environment and exceptional relationship management with client sales teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone in hotel revenue management/sales or tour operator buying/product management to develop their career in European markets and expand their skill set.

 The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participating in top-line hotel rate strategy discussions for each source market
  • Formulating market-wide promotional rate strategies for client hotels, with a primary responsibility for negotiations with client hotel sales teams to finalise the deals.
  • Overseeing and interpreting competitor pricing and monthly client statistical reports, ensuring appropriate strategic commercial responses are formulated and actioned in a timely manner
  • At least one business trip per quarter to the Caribbean/Mexico in order to develop face-to-face client relationships, and occasional attendance of travel trade events in the UK & across Europe.
  • Any other day-to-day level management of direct reports and other responsibilities

 Person Profile

  • At least 3 years’ relevant commercial experience with a hotel chain or tour operator
  • Must be able to develop fruitful working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the Company
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt and work across multiple projects simultaneously; can work individually or as part of a team
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, able to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication techniques
  • Analytically minded with a strong attention to detail; able to effectively analyse and interpret information, with an in-depth knowledge of the travel industry
  • Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

MARKETING & PR EXECUTIVE (FRENCH SPEAKING)

We are looking for a fluent French speaking Marketing & PR Executive to join our team. There will be occasional travel within Europe as well as to the Caribbean & Mexico as part of the role. Reporting to the Senior Marketing & PR Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to initiate and carry out regular Marketing & PR activity with key partners in the French, Belgian and UK markets, specifically for our client - AMResorts. Coordinating the promotion of AMResorts’ products in the Caribbean, Mexico & Europe via numerous trade and consumer marketing channels is important, as well as maintaining strong travel trade and media relationships in order to generate optimum PR coverage. 

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the European travel trade, including media partners and tour operator/tourist board Marketing & PR departments
  • Regularly proofing client product content in tour operator sales collateral, to ensure adherence to client brand guidelines and that all information is factually correct before signing off in time to meet copy deadlines
  • Providing support to the Senior Marketing & PR Manager to coordinate, implement and track trade media, tour operator and travel agent joint marketing initiatives
  • Co-ordinating the content, design and successful communication of French language travel agent newsletters, trade marketing and press releases on behalf of Cara Hotel Marketing and its clients

Person Profile

  • Fully fluent in English and French
  • An interest in developing a career in marketing and public relations
  • An interest in and basic understanding of the travel industry
  • Motivated and results-oriented with a positive outlook
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • A good communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • A creative thinker, able to frequently suggest new ideas
  • Thrives on working in a team environment, but also has the ability to work individually
  • Analytically minded; able to evaluate and report on the results of marketing activity/campaigns
  • Ability to adapt and work across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or equivalent is preferable.
